By
providing a place for personal or business research, leisure
reading, free access to computers, or programs for adults,
teens, children and families, libraries across York County
have touched the lives of nearly every individual that has
ever lived in our community. York County libraries serve
over 517,000 York
Countians with “Answers for Living, Knowledge for Life.”
When
you join the Endowment-Legacy Society at your library, you
join the many individuals who have chosen to ensure that the
library’s good work will continue well into the future. We
encourage you to inform your library of a planned gift so
that we may acknowledge your commitment during your
lifetime.
York
County libraries partner with
York County
Community Foundation to assist donors who wish to ensure
an ongoing gift to their favorite library(ies). If you do
not have a professional (such as an attorney, financial
planner, and/or accountant) that can discuss the details of
estate planning and you would like to name a Library as a
benefactor in your will please contact the Development
Office.
You
may become a member of a library's legacy society by letting
your library know you have done one of the following:
-
Named a library/YCLS to receive a bequest in your
will.
-
Made a contribution for which you have lifetime
income.
-
Made a contribution to the library for a period of
years, after which the assets return to your
family.
-
Made a gift of your residence or other real property.
