Both Adams and York County Libraries (we're both part of the same district center)  pool resources and ship items to other libraries free of charge, so you can get the items you want without driving clear across the County.  

In spite of our excellent collections, there are some times we simply don't own the item you need.  That's when Interlibrary Loan comes into play.

The Access Pennsylvania Database is a project of the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and was started in 1985 as a way to provide a union catalog across the State of Pennsylvania. It was the first and remains the largest statewide union catalog that include the holdings of all types of libraries.  It is what makes Interlibrary Loan possible, and allows our Librarians to find the items you're looking for in the fastest time possible.

If we don't have an item in your home County that you'd like to have, here's the place to begin!

•  please be sure the item is not already in your system (York or Adam's County)  before you request it

• it takes approximately 2-6 weeks to receive your item

• we cannot request items from the current year
